Case report of COVID-19 positive new born with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC)

COVID-19 caused by SARS-Cov-2 virus has spread rapidly across the world. Children are just as like adult to become infected with but have lesser symptoms and less severity of disease. Necrotizing enterocolitis is one common gastrointestinal emergencies in neonatal intensive care unit. More than 85% cases NEC occur among preterm very low birth weight. Preterm babies vulnerable develop because high incidence perinatal distress factor, stasis gut due autonomic immaturity, poor barrier function or immune defences, lack feeding human milk higher nosocomial infections. During current pandemic, no similar finding been reported population date. In this review we summarize case report two newborns admitted our NICU who were COVID 19 positive presented us suggestive necrotizing (NEC) their outcome based on presence comorbidity. Our reports history, examination investigations enterocolitis. Early initiation antibiotics covering bowel flora, rest resuscitation, tried true medical management NEC, should be considered for initial avoid surgical intervention
